Daniel Martinez Fuentes was
born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1961. A professional architect, he has
also developed important works as a self-taught artist for more than 20
years. A traveler to European museums, he has applied a classical academic
style to his own oil paintings, especially the techniques of the Dutch school of
Verneer. The principal subjects of his
last exhibition in Montevideo were oil paintings of female nudes bathed in light or
covered with a fine veil to enhance the human figure. A selection of these paintings is exhibited below.
