Without formal art training, Kevin Murphy began his art career in the field of book cover illustrations in 1992, at the age of 23. His illustrations have appeared on the covers of books by best-selling authors Terry Goodkind, L.E. Modesitt, and Graham Masterton. His career diversified into projects from National Geographic, Barnes & Noble, Milton Bradley, Viacom, and many other well-known firms. In 1997, Kevin was commissioned to create the cover for the Rolling Stones album, "Bridges to Babylon." He has been featured in Infinite World's, "the definitive history of science-fiction illustration," since its founding. Vincent Di Fate, editor of Infinite Worlds, described Kevin as "...one of the new stars rising on the Science Fiction art horizon [and] destined to reach celebrity status in the genre in the near future." Kevin decided to pursue a career of self-expression as a fine art painter. Captivated by the human form and its challenges, Kevin's works combine a classical painting approach with the exploration of the visage of contemporary man. Using only the figure, Kevin creates dramatic compositions of life-size paintings.
